Item Description
Beautifully framed mid-20th century artwork, well-preserved with only a few minor chips. This piece was purchased in 2000 from the renowned San Telmo district in Argentina, known for showcasing some of the best artworks by European artists during that period.
F. De Castionio was an influential artist active in the early 20th century, recognized for his work in Post-Impressionist styles. He excelled in various subjects, including landscapes, seascapes, stunning bouquets, and portraits. However, his intimate portraiture and genre paintings that established him as a master in capturing the elegance and charisma of women.
His classical artistic training provided a high level of accuracy in his work, influencing his choice of colour palette and the sensuality that characterized the portraits of women he cherished creating.
